Introduction to Pottery I
An introductory pottery course familiarizing students with clay. The class will introduce students to basic hand building and wheel techniques, as well as glazing. The class is designed to give students an idea of what the craft of pottery involves and an opportunity to create some pieces. Classes are three hours, once a week, for six weeks.
Introduction to Pottery II
After learning the basics of hand building and wheel throwing in the Introduction to Pottery I class, students are encouraged to pursue more complex projects and to practice the techniques that inspire them. Introductions to basic glaze making and kiln operations are also covered. This class is designed for students that want to pursue the craft of pottery in more detail. Introduction to Pottery II is three hours long, once a week, for six weeks.
